I woke up with the lyrics from the first song in my head. Not sure how a song gets in your when you’ve heard 0 sounds so far in the day, but there we were. “You feel like you’re in quicksand, foreverrr”. I had a few others semi-related sounds in nsjs note already, so it made for a quick list.

Mike Park feat. Catbite “You Feel Like You’re in Quicksand”

I love Mike Park and his incredible energy. A kind caring man that runs a killer record label out of his parents garage. They’ve put out some classic records, but I got into them via Link 80, Alkaline Trio, and the Plea for Peace tour(s). If you’ve been paying attention to anything ska/punk/rock/music related, the Catbite feature will come as no surprise. They are great and pair incredibly well with Mike Park.

Alkaline Trio “Weak Week”

This is a song I missed off a favorite album of mine. Really not sure how, but 20 years later I first heard this one. *edit: turns out it was a demo off the goddammit album, so it took the extended version for me to hear it. Fun.

Mad Caddies “Strange Days”

I couldn’t help but think of these guys on the trips back and forth from Mill Valley to San Diego when we were moving. We took the route near Goleta and I had that fun Mad Caddies song in my head for days. This one came out a few months back, so the days did seem a bit stranger then. That’s not to say we are not without our strangeness.
