I played a session a few months ago at the recently opened Graton Casino in Northern California. I don’t get the chance to go play often, so I have to make the most of the opportunities I have. As such, it’s 4am I am stuck a few hundred and playing in a 5-handed $1/3 NL game. The villain has just joined our game. His unfamiliarity with the concept of chip runners and the idea of acting in turn make it pretty clear he is no live pro.

New Guy CO ($200)
Me SB ($300)
Tighty BB ($200)

New Guy opens to $13 from the CO, I call SB with J T, Tighty calls from BB

Flop ($39)
A 2 3

Checks around

Turn ($39)
Q

I bet $20, Tighty folds, and New Guy calls quickly

River ($79)
K (lol)

New guy checks strongly, out of turn. I bet $50 confidently(back-dooring the nuts will do that). At this point the kid turns on the Hollywood act, starting to sit-up very tall in his seat. He ask how much I have, (“You covered”) and declares “I will put you all in”. While that is not quite possible, I won’t pause to object as it will delay my inevitably money stacking. I call, and he can’t seem to figure out how his A Q didn’t net him an easy double up.

Raising PF, checking back flopped top pair 3 ways, flatting turn, then attempting to check/raise the river in position for value – The ballin’est river line I’ve seen in live poker.
